Discovery River Tours 2010 Schedule:

Savannah River Tour - June 11-13 (Fri-Sun) - $1165 per person + fuel (all-inclusive)*

This trip is based on double occupancy.  Single occupancy available for an additional $178.  Estimated Fuel Cost: $220 per boat.

We are pleased to announce the return of the "original" Discovery River Tour!  The ride on this scenic river, great food and superior lodging are what have made this trip a classic for 17 years.  We start the trip in Augusta, GA and will travel 180 miles on Day One to the trendy destination of Savannah, GA. We'll follow the quiet beauty of this real natural river as it winds and curves it's way to the coast.  This is one of our most secluded long distance runs until you reach civilization and the bustling riverfront just a few miles before our end point.  We'll have a great dinner and shuttle you to your first-class accommodations at the Marriott, located right on Savannah's famous River Street.  Day Two offers a guided trip on some of the scenic back rivers and creeks of the area around Savannah.  After lunch, the afternoon offers free time for you to enjoy the city of Savannah and the many shops, historic homes and sight-seeing tours within walking distance of our hotel.  The group will meet up that evening for another great dinner at one of our favorites!  We'll get you going on Day Three with a full breakfast and then it's off to the marina to begin our journey back upriver to Augusta.  At day's end you will have completed 420 miles on the river that serves as the Georgia & South Carolina state line.

* NEW: St. Marys-Altamaha RiverTrip - August 1-3 (Sun-Tue) - $1175 per person + fuel (all-inclusive)*

This trip is based on double occupancy.  Single occupancy available for an additional $205.  Estimated Fuel Cost: $203 per boat.

This is an all new version of a similar tour we ran in 2002.  We'll begin this southeast Georgia adventure near Jesup, GA on the Altamaha River.  Day One will cover 140 miles via the Altamaha River, the Intracoastal Waterway and several back creeks and rivers we've discovered to avoid some of the open channels near the coast.  Just past Cumberland Island, you'll reach our destination of Saint Mary’s, GA, the second oldest city in the U.S. It is a quaint little riverfront town, rich in history and located only 8 miles from the Atlantic coast in the southern-most tip of Georgia.  We'll stay two nights in town at the charming Spencer House Inn, built in 1872 and located just one block from the river, marina and waterfront park.  Day Two will provide an awesome run on the St. Mary's River, which also serves as the southern border of Georgia.  This 110 mile ride on the beautiful, winding blackwater river will be especially enjoyable on a weekday with minimal recreational traffic.  You'll have the afternoon to relax on one of the porches at the Inn, stroll by some of the neighboring historic homes and churches or visit the waterfront shops and pubs.  The group will join together that evening for a fabulous dinner and time to talk about the day.  Day Three will take you back to our start point, completing the 390 mile trip.  This tour is sure to become a favorite and a great addition to your river-touring scrapbook.  We hope you can join us!

The Pee Dee-Waccamaw River Trip - Sept. 17-19 (Fri-Sun) - $1140 per person + fuel (all-inclusive)*

This trip is based on double occupancy.  Single occupancy available for an additional $155.  Estimated Fuel Cost: $161 per boat.

One of our most popular trips for over 10 years and a real favorite of the DRT crew, this tour will take you to the beautiful blackwater riverfront destination of Conway, SC.  Our route will take us on some of the most scenic waterways of any trip we do.  In addition to the natural beauty, you'll also get a close river view of some of the old plantation homes and riverfront properties perched on the river's edge.  You'll travel the Intracoastal Waterway, the Santee River, Bull Creek, the Great Pee Dee River, the Waccamaw River and will have lunch on the Historic Georgetown riverwalk before arriving at your destination. We'll dock within walking distance of the fabulous Cypress Inn Bed and Breakfast, winner of AAA's 4-Diamond Award and our home base for 2-nights.  In addition to the luxurious accommodations, this trip offers some of the best low-country cuisine in South Carolina.  On Day Two we'll guide you upriver to experience a very adventurous 52-mile ride through the winding 5 million year old Waccamaw River basin.  This beautiful part of the river is lined with magnificent, old Cypress, where the Blue Heron, Osprey and White Egrets abound.  This area of South Carolina is so rich in history you will feel the presence of the past all around you while still enjoying today's amenities on this 325-mile trip.

Okeechobee Lake & River Tour - Oct 24-26 (Sun-Tues) - $1095 per person + fuel (all-inclusive)*

This trip is based on double occupancy.  Single occupancy available for an additional $90.  Estimated Fuel Cost: $179 per boat.

On this very popular 350 mile tour you'll visit a piece of "old" Florida, where sugar cane and cattle ranches cover the landscape instead of theme parks and shopping malls.  The backdrop for this trip provides an interesting view of what many never see in the Sunshine State.  We'll begin this trip in historic Indiantown, FL and will run the Port St. Lucie Canal (east of Lake Okeechobee) and then lock through into the lake and travel the most protected route along the southern rim canal.  The rim canal will keep us out of the "big" water and will lead us over to the peaceful and beautiful Caloosahatchee River (west of Lake Okeechobee).  From there we'll travel through three more locks and into Fort Myers on the west coast of Florida.  At day's end we will have traveled from near the east coast of Florida all the way to the west coast!  Our destination of North Ft. Myers returns us to civilization and our first class accommodations in the beautifully renovated hotel overlooking the bay.  We'll enjoy a great dinner on site and this year we've shifted our dates to coincide with Stone Crab season!  Fresh from local Gulf waters, only the claws are harvested and the crabs are released back to regenerate new claws every year.  If you've never had this delicacy you are in for a treat!  (Don't like seafood? - No worries, there will be plenty of landlubber options available, too.)  On Day Two, the group will head east back across the state for an overnight at the historic Seminole Inn at the start point of the trip.  Loaded with history and lovingly cared for, the Inn provides a special peek at what much of Florida was once like.  On Day Three we'll run a route on the nearby Kissimmee River, currently under restoration to revive parts of the old winding original river channel.  This section is absolutely beautiful.  There will be lots of wildlife and very little civilization on this adventurous and technical part of the ride.  So, if you're one of those who has a hard time ending your riding season each year... then join us on this Fall trip that boasts average high temps in the mid-80's!

* The tour prices noted above are for our all-inclusive tour package plus a separate fuel charge.  The fuel charge is based on the current market price in the area that the tour takes place. Dependent on which trip you choose, all of these tours will range between 46 and 63 gallons per boat usage. This is calculated as an average amount for all PWC's on the trip and our complete fuel service remains part of the hassle free all-inclusive package. The estimated fuel costs noted above are based on estimated pricing and could fluctuate up or down to some degree prior to trip time.

The deposit to hold your reservation is: $250 per person / per trip and is fully refundable if cancellation is made prior to 60 days before the trip.  You will receive an invoice for the remaining tour balance which will be due 30 days in advance of the trip.  If you cancel your reservation 30 days or less before the trip date, we will retain the $250 deposit plus a $100 cancellation fee. The balance from your payment will be refunded in full.  The fuel charge will be due on departure and calculated at current market price for that area.  (Fuel costs are estimated below for each tour and are based on anticipated average price per gallon.  If prices are lower or higher than anticipated, we will adjust the fuel price accordingly.)

Thanks and we look forward to seeing you on the river in 2010!!
